IGN rando is the hiking application from the Institut national de l’information géographique et forestière (IGN) dedicated to precision mapping routes, with access to maps offline for your outdoor activities.

Based on IGN reference maps (blue series, top 25, etc.) in digital format, the application offers a wide range of services for your hiking and outdoor activities:
- Suggested routes certified and moderated by the hiking federation
- Route planning to prepare your trips with guided entry
- Accessing and using cards without a network connection
- navigation information and route exit alerts
- Sharing your position in real time if you wish
The application is available to download free of charge, but with limited functionality, such as access to maps only when connected, which is not practical when you are hiking, cycling or doing any other outdoor activity.
The free version provides access to the following maps:
- Map IGN v2
- Aerialphotographs
- OpenStreetMap Outdoorsmaps for abroad
For permanent access to IGN maps, as well as other map collections and additional services, we recommend a one-year subscription to IGN rando liberté.
IGN rando liberté subscription
For less than €17 a year (with no automatic renewal), the IGN rando liberté subscription offers you a host of additional features and offline access to all the maps in the free version as well as the following base maps:
- IGN maps (the main IGN maps at different scales)
- Top25 IGN (topographic maps at a scale of 1:25000)
- IGN historical maps (IGN Maps 1950 and Staff Maps 1820-1866)
- IGN map of slopes for snow activities (overlay layer)
- Cadastral parcels (overlay layer)
- Network of roads, paths and footpaths (input help)
- IGN ICAO maps (air navigation)
