The A40 and Mont Blanc tunnel
The Autoroutes et Tunnel du Mont-Blanc motorway includes the A40 motorway section between the Bellegarde and Le Fayet toll plazas, then on to the tunnel via the RN205 trunk road towards Italy via the Alps.
The upstream section from Lyon (A40/A42) or Oyonnax (A404) is managed by APRR.
This toll expressway, also known as the Autoroute Blanche, is a major road in the French Alps. Stretching for around 130 kilometres, it links Valsherhône to Passy and the Mont Blanc tunnel, passing through the Arve valley.
This motorway is an essential link between France, Switzerland and Italy, facilitating access to ski resorts, Alpine tourist destinations and trans-Alpine trade.
