The A63 Landes motorway
The Landes motorway is a toll motorway in France that runs for around 150 kilometres to the west of the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park. This 122 km section is a toll road between Mios and Rivière-Saas-et-Gourby.
The A63 motorway links Bordeaux to the Basque country and Spain along the Landes coast, and facilitates connections between the Aquitaine basin and the Pyrenees. It is managed by Atlandes, a subsidiary of the EGIS group.
It plays a road role by relieving traffic on national roads and offering a fast alternative for regional and long-distance journeys on the north/south axis.
Opened in its entirety in 1981, the A63 motorway section in the Landes region runs from the Lescart toll plaza in the north to the Langon (Pau) toll plaza, a distance of 150 kilometres. The Landes motorway section runs from the Saugnac-et-Muret toll plaza in the north to the Castets toll plaza in the south, with 12 entrances and exits and many free local journeys.
