With 13,191 kilometres of roads, the department has a road infrastructure that enables the deployment of a departmental coach and bus network to complement the rail network centred on Toulouse. Here’s a closer look at the Lot’s coaches and buses: routes, timetables, stops and practical information.
Coaches et bus du Lot
The Lot departmental bus and coach network is managed by the Occitanie Region via the liO transport service.
With more than a dozen regular and seasonal routes, the Lot’s coaches and buses are based around Cahors, Souillac, Figeac and the department’s communes, with links to neighbouring departments:Aveyron, Tarn-et-Garonne and Lot-et-Garonne. They complete the only rail link that stops at Auch, coming from Toulouse.
The liO network in the Lot is organised around Cahors, and serves the communes of the department in the direction of the 3 neighbouring departments, between Massif-Central in the west and Aquitaine in the east. These lines facilitate travel for work, education and tourism, strengthening inter-regional integration between Occitanie and Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
The buses are interconnected with the stations on the Lot TER-SNCF train line, which cross the department, to facilitate connections between different modes of public transport.
