The rising waters of the North Atlantic Ocean
The Atlantic coastline in mainland France covers 2,400 kilometres of coastline, from Brittany to the Basque Country, with greater risk zones near estuaries, beaches and marshes.
For the North Atlantic, two regions are concerned, Pays-de-le-Loire and Brittany.
Already affected by coastal erosion, the North Atlantic coast is also likely to undergo significant changes, for example for the inhabitants of the Vilaine or Loire estuaries or marshy areas such as the Séné or Brière marshes.
