What does global warming mean for the ocean coast? Find the answer on the map, with a simulation of the rising waters of the South Atlantic Ocean in France.

The rising waters of the South Atlantic Ocean
The Atlantic seaboard in mainland France covers 2,400 kilometres of coastline, from Brittany to the Basque Country, with a higher risk zone in the marshes, particularly the Poitevin marshes, or in the Gironde estuary or Arcachon Bay.
For the South Atlantic, one region concerned is Nouvelle-Aquitaine (French), to the south of Pays-de-la-Loire.
Already affected by coastal erosion, the south Atlantic coast is also likely to undergo major changes, particularly for residents living near sea mouths and beaches, such as the famous Le Signal building in Soulac-sur-Mer.

Climate Central map
The simulation of rising sea levels in the Central Climate South Atlantic, with a focus on the French coast and several possible factors:
- In how many years?
- How high is the water level?
- What increase in temperature (global warming)?
- What climate and energy choices (warming choices)?
- How much are the ice caps and glaciers (ice sheets) melting?
- What new data (elevation dataset)
